If you have dry skin, love the ultra-dewy look, and don’t typically have issues with the longevity of your base products, chances are that this will keep you moisturised and glowy all day long. To me, the best thing about this foundation (and what made me want to try it) is how nourishing it is. Today I wore it with my Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder (220 Natural Beige, if anyone’s wondering) and the foundation was still going strong at the 8-hour mark, aggressively radiant, and with no creasing at all. The good news is that the slightest dusting of powder does wonders for the wear time. This is one of those foundations I have to set, or it creases into my smile lines after 3 hours or so, and goes completely to pieces by 5 hours. Any more than two layers and I want to rip my face off. This is a pretty full-bodied formula - I hesitate to say oily, but it does have squalane oil as the fifth ingredient - so I don’t like to build it up too much, or my skin starts to feel greasy and suffocated. I get sheer coverage with one layer when I apply it with a damp sponge, but with a flat-top stippling brush I can get it up to a pretty solid light-medium coverage. The brand describes this foundation as buildable and lightweight, and I agree. L (my right): two layers of foundation R (my left): bare face I’m not complaining at all - here’s a very comprehensive post on Simple Skincare Science about the benefits of squalane and how safe it is for all skin types, including people with fungal acne. In contrast, squalane oil is the fifth ingredient on the list. Rosehip oil has got to be one of the trendiest facial oils at the moment, after CBD/hemp.) Available in 44 inclusive shades with a variety of warm, cool, or neutral undertones, the radiant foundation has an innovative lightweight formula designed to maintain the skin’s natural protective barrier while evening out complexion and allowing your skin’s natural luminosity to shine through.Ī cursory glance at the INCI list shows rosehip oil as the last ingredient, so it’s funny they chose to lead with that. Here are the brand’s claims, per Sephora’s website:Įnriched with the nourishing power of Rose Hip Oil, the ZOEVA Authentik Skin Natural Luminous Foundation glides on to deliver a buildable, silky smooth, and all-day-long finish. oz., and it comes in a sleek bottle with a pump. This foundation retails for S$42 on Sephora or S$37 on Beauty Bay. I’d describe my skin as light with neutral-to-warm undertones, NC15 in MAC and 140/150 in Fenty’s Soft Matte range. So of course, this foundation jumped to the top of my review list.įor reference, as usual: I have oily, textured, acne-prone skin (so maybe not the best candidate for this foundation). I’m always drawn to anything Zoeva puts out (and let’s be real, that’s due in large part to classy packaging and not-unreasonable price tags). If you’re anything like me, you know Zoeva as the brand that does affordable but absolutely gorgeous brush sets and eyeshadow palettes - but apparently they do base products now! Their new Authentik foundation comes in 44 shades and seems to have been formulated with skincare in mind, given that it’s infused with squalane and rosehip oil.
